Lawn Care, The Flatland Way
West Texas lawns aren't like lawns everywhere else. Our climate, heat, wind, soil, watering conditions, and weed pressure require the right treatments at the right time.
That's why Flatland focuses on lawn treatments rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
Our services include pre-emergent weed prevention, post-emergent weed control, lawn fertilization, grub treatment, and root feeding. Every application is approached with attention to timing, conditions, and the individual needs of the property.
We want you to understand what we're putting on your lawn, why we're applying it, and what you can expect afterward.

Our Core Services
Pre-Emergent
A pre-emergent herbicide helps prevent weeds before they have a chance to grow. It works by creating a protective barrier near the soil surface that stops weed seeds from developing into seedlings. When applied before weeds emerge, it helps reduce competition with desirable plants and provides effective control of many annual grassy and broadleaf weeds.
Post-Emergent
Post-Emergent herbicides kill weeds after they have emerged and begun actively growing. Applied directly to weed foliage, they are absorbed by the plant and work by disrupting essential growth processes, helping eliminate unwanted weeds while protecting desirable plants when used as directed. Commonly used in lawns, gardens, and agricultural areas, these treatments help maintain healthy, attractive spaces throughout the growing season.

Applications may be made in both spring and fall to target different weed species during their most active growth periods, providing effective control when weeds are most vulnerable.
Fertilizer
Regular fertilization provides your lawn with essential nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, to support healthy growth, vibrant color, and thicker, stronger grass. Proper nutrition also encourages a healthy root system, improves stress tolerance and recovery, and helps create a dense, resilient lawn that can better withstand weeds, pests, and disease.
Grub Treatment
Grub worm treatments help protect your lawn by targeting beetle larvae that feed on grass roots and can cause brown patches, thinning turf, and overall lawn decline. While fertilizer provides essential nutrients to promote healthy grown, grub control focus specifically on preventing pest damage.
Root Feeding
Root feeding works by injecting a nutrient-rich solution directly into the soil around the root zone of your trees and shrubs. This places nutrients below the surface where roots can absorb them efficiently, rather than relying on surface applications. The treatment helps promote deeper, stronger roots and provides the nutrients plants need for healthy growth, improved color, and greater resilience to West Texas heat and drought.
Our Approach
Healthy lawns require more than a one-size-fits-all application. We treat fertilization, weed prevention, active weeds, and lawn pests according to what your lawn actually needs throughout the year.
